Art is an amazing tool for connection and this World Art Day, we’re celebrating creativity in all its forms and recognising the incredible role art plays in shaping our communities. Through our mural projects we see time and time again how art brings people together, tells important stories, and makes our public spaces more vibrant.

Why Art Matters in Communities

One of the most beautiful aspects of community art is its ability to create a sense of belonging. When people come together to co-create, they’re forming bonds, sharing experiences, and building relationships. At CCC our projects show that creativity has the power to strengthen social connections and make communities feel more inclusive.

Transforming Spaces Through Art

We see everyday how art can create meaningful change. Our award-winning Finsbury Park Station Mural is a perfect example - designed and painted with the local community, it reflects the diverse identities, stories, and spirit of the area. This project turned a once-overlooked space into a welcoming, inspiring environment for everyone passing through.

Art is for everyone, and it deserves to be celebrated. Whether you're painting, drawing, sculpting, or simply appreciating creativity around you, today is a reminder of how powerful and unifying art can be.

The Well-Being Benefits of Creativity

Beyond how a mural looks, engaging in art has amazing mental health benefits for people. Creativity has been shown to reduce stress, boost confidence, and provide a sense of accomplishment. Many participants in our projects have shared how creating art has helped them express emotions, overcome challenges, and find moments of joy.

Art is for Everyone

No matter your background, skill level, or experience, art is something that belongs to all of us. Everyone has a creative spark, and World Art Day is a perfect reminder that every form of expression is valuable. Whether you’re a professional artist or just starting out, your creativity deserves to be seen and celebrated.
