Climate Change and Food Waste Workshop
CCC Led and hosted a three-hour drop-in mood board and discussion workshop in two parts with Foodwave and ReLondon. Foodwave’s initiative is to create an awareness of sustainable approaches to consuming and producing food in our cities to support climate change mitigation and adaptation. ReLondon is LWARB, renamed – a partnership of the Mayor of London and London’s boroughs to improve waste and resource management in the capital and speed up our transition to a low-carbon circular city - making them the perfect partners for this project.
Together, with students, families, and the local communities, we engaged in discussions about food and the climate. We worked together to educate the participants whilst giving them a creative outlet in order to express their thoughts and bring about hope and encouragement to their community.

"Rose organised a great workshop about food waste and sustainability. Our students really enjoyed the day and working with Rose and her team. We spent an afternoon exploring the importance of managing food waste through mood boards, several students commented on how engaging and enjoyable they found the workshop. Thank you for a fantastic afternoon!"

Part One: MoodBoards
Through these conversations, the year 9 students from City of London Academy Islington created artworks and collected images for their mood boards to express their thoughts and feelings. We helped them discover and visually communicate their thoughts about various relevant topics i.e. What they thought a healthy diet is and being able to create how to take action in your community and city.
"Rosetta Arts worked with Rose to run a workshop as part of a sustainable food festival. We were delighted with Rose's proposal addressing the themes, her enthusiasm, adaptability and diligence in all areas of delivering the activity. Rose had fantastic local connections which she kindly engaged and had a huge effect on the reach and success of the project. We are delighted to have worked with Rose on this workshop and very much look forward to collaborating again."

Part Two: Window Discussion Workshop
We engaged with passers-by to create a written artwork together. We encouraged the community to write their beliefs about climate change and food waste, their wishes, or a recent statistic they’ve learned.
We welcomed everyone equally and opened up the conversation to everyone in the public.
"We worked with Rose to run a workshop as part of a sustainable food festival we were running and we were very pleased with the outcome! Rose was always so enthusiastic, professional, and kind - and had great local connections with schools which proved critical for us! We had a group of students attend the workshop and they clearly enjoyed the activities Rose had prepared. A great experience overall, thanks Rose!" Arielle Vetro, Food Wave campaign lead, RELondon
